Misc.

Cheryl always has a really cool bag that she has made whenever she comes into the store. She was sporting this one the other day. It looks like a purple colored one might be coming in soon.
Lynn Sarno from Connecticut was in town and found some purple batiks to add to her stash.
Sue had this quilt to show everyone last Wednesday night.

Misc.

First, I have to let you know that Laurie LaConti will be at the shop on Tuesday, May 4, from 1-2:30 to answer any questions you may have about having your quilt machine quilted by her. Also to pick up or drop off quilts.
Now, this appears to be a class of mostly camera shy people. It was a Tuesday night class with Willie, but for some reason not many people appear and if they do, it doesn't appear to be on purpose. For example, I think Megan should be here making a quilt for her daughter's school auction.
This is June, working on snowflake applique blocks.
Carol, helping a quilt take flight with flying geese.
Dottie, who doesn't shy away from pictures, is making a quilt for her niece's first baby.
Yvonne should be here doing something. I think she might be shopping.
Whatever!

Idol Talk

I pass this sign every day on my way to and from work or wherever I'm going. There's other signs supporting Siobhan, but this one looks so official, like a real street sign. I like it! She's a hometown girl from close by, and I hope everyone votes for her! I don't know if that's the correct spelling of her name, I've always seen it Siobhan in the newspapers, but either way I hope she gets lots of votes.
I don't think she makes quilts, but she dresses so quirky and creatively that I feel like she's one of us. Feathers, butterflies, flowers, all kinds of embellishments,
ruffles and different textures, it's like she's a quilt waiting to happen. Don't forget to VOTE!!
Meanwhile, Stephanie finished her pumplin quilt. It's a design from Thimbleberries.
This is Tricia Currey's mystery quilt from her Falmouth Quilt Guild. She gets a lot done!

Misc.

Isn't this a great pile of stuff?
It belongs to Katie, who is here on vacation and made it a point to include a visit to Tumbleweed. Here she is at the cutting table, very happy with her pile.
This is Katie's backpack, there's not a pattern yet, but maybe soon? You can see more of Katie here.
This is a quilt that Mickie made.
Ruth made this baby quilt. The bears were from a panel to make a draft dodger and Ruth found a different use for it. I wish it was still available!

Willie's Latest

Everyone who is wondering what Willie has been up to lately, I have your answer!
Here she is to show you her latest quilt. Her "Jo Morton" quilt.
Or, should we say her "Kaffe/Morton" quilt? Or, how about her "Jo/Fassett" quilt?
Anyway, whatever you want to call it, it's a great combination of Jo Morton and Kaffe Fassett fabrics!
The pattern is in the "Laps From Fats" book. Come in any Friday for Open Sew and Willie can
get you started on your own quilt!

Making stuff

This plate belongs to Dorothy Stahley.
It was her inspiration for colors in her tablerunner she decided to make in Willie's tablerunner class.
Here it is all finished! It's going to look great with the plates!
There was still time left, so she worked on these chenille squares she made with her husbands shirts. They are going to be used to make something, maybe a pillow?
Dottie and Sandy are very busy.
So is Olive.
I'll eventually find out what they are making, but I have no idea now.

Misc.

Debbie Zeida made these two quilts and donated them to Wrapped Up In Sports.
Dottie Long made this quilt for her granddaughter, Riley. Dragonflies are quilted on the border and she used dragonfly fabric because Riley's Mom loves dragonflies. It was long armed quilted by Cindy Hagen in North Dakota, (Dottie's niece).
This is the first of the Jo Morton Little Women Club quilts. The Thursday afternoon group is full right now so we've added a Wednesday morning one. It is scheduled for 10-1 on May 19, June 16, July 21, and August 25. Sign up soon! There's also room in the Thursday evening group.

Scrappy Tuesday

I was amazed at the number of Featherweights in class on Tuesday.
Carol Jones made this quilt using a Kaffe Fasset roll of 2 1/2 strips.
Here's another of Carol's class samples.
Look at these colors! New shot cotton colors! Honeydew, clementine, blueberry, sprout, and lipstick.

Tricia and Terry Currey

This month we have the pleasure of having quilts on display done by Tricia and Terry Currey. Tricia is Terry's daughter and they both share a love of quilting! How lucky!
This quilt is done by Tricia.
The scrappy border done on the diagonal is cool!
This wallhanging is also done by Tricia.
The stamped quilt is also Tricia's. The white design was stamped on using erasers and white fabric paint.
Isn't that awesome?!
The rest of the quilts were done by Terry. It's great how they both play with all different styles and methods.
You have to come in to see this one, the picture doesn't do it justice.
Some are more modern in style,
some are more traditional.
They are all beautiful!
What fun!!

Table Runners

These are all pictures taken during the Table Runner Class last Saturday. This time it was more of a table topper.
So, take a look! I love to see how it looks using different fabrics.

Putting the darker fabric where it is in this one makes more of a pinwheel look rather than a star.

Enjoy!
