Quilts

Joann brought in this quilt that was found while antiquing!  She found the perfect fabric for her to put on the back!
Jennifer Group made this chenille bag and it looks like it's being put to good use!

Janet Vaughn was visiting on the Cape and came into catch up!  She always brings show and tell!  This one is a blast from the past, "Snowbound"!  She's finally finishing it!

She had this one to show us, too!

This is one she is working on for David's House, which is connected with the Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in New Hampshire.  Janet made the bottom part of this quilt and another member of their guild made the top applique part.

Janet has also been braiding rugs!

Bright Spots!

Amidst all the gloom of last week, there were some bright spots!  Meredith Pearson was in with another   Kaffe Fassett quilt!  She was picking out borders.

Annmarie Jacobson also worked with Kaffe fabrics and came in to decide on a border or just binding!
The UPS and FedEx trucks are always bright spots!

We received the latest Kaffe Fassett fabrics and there were a lot of them!

Boston Marathon

In the midst of all the terrible happenings in Boston yesterday I just want to take a moment to say congratulations to Katie Fiedler for completing her first Marathon with a really good time!  She finished in about three hours and 55 minutes, just minutes before the bombs went off.  This is Katie in front of one of the quilts she made awhile back.  Willie and her son and his girlfriend were at the finish line to cheer Katie on and were very fortunate to not be hurt.  Some time passed before she actually connected with Katie and could hug her and know she hadn't been hurt.  Everyone at the shop spent time worrying until we knew that they were all fine.  They were very lucky.
Katie ran the marathon for Dana Farber Cancer Institute and has been busy raising money for them.  Willie has been helping her by making bags and wallets like these and selling them  here to give the money to Katie towards her goal.  They both have been working very hard and yesterday was supposed to be a celebratory day.  It was supposed to be a celebratory day for a lot of people. That was denied them.

My heart goes out to all the runners, families, spectators, volunteers, organizers, medical, police, fire, and everyone involved in the Boston Marathon and pray that something like this never happens again.

Willie's Missing Bag

Has anyone seen this bag?  It is a Bali Bag Willie made from an Auntie's Two pattern.  It has been on display at the shop as a pattern sample and now we can't find it!  We hate to think the worst, but it looks like it has been taken from the shop!  Please be on the lookout and let us know if you see it anywhere.
