Lynn Conroy worked on her Strips and Curves with Carol Ayotte in her Open Sew Class last Tuesday! It's coming along great!

Diane Klaiber is finishing up her Christmas lap quilt as a birthday gift for her sister.
Carol Eaton showed us the paper-pieced Christas tree she made in one of Carol Ayotte's classes.
She also made pillowcases during the class on Tuesday!
Robin Masi was in the Open Sew Class on Friday with Willie and showed us her wild animal wallhanging she is making for her niece!

Willie made this bright quilt top using Kaffe fabrics!

Marianne Asper also used Kaffe fabrics that she bought as a fat quarter bundle at Tumbleweed!
Willie finished her latest bag made with an "Aunties Two" pattern. It's nice and big!
Linda is finishing up a baby quilt for her 1st grandchild!
Paula Tuano brought in this quilt given to her by her daughter, who is currently living in Uganda!

Bayberry Quilt Guild Challenge Quilts

If you haven't been in to the store to see the Bayberry Quilt Guild Challenge Quilts you should come in to see them!

The challenge commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the National Seashore.
This one is Ruth's, complete with moveable parts, as usual!
There are 54 wallhangings hangings hanging, and they are all beautiful!

This is not part of the challenge, my mistake! I clicked the wrong number I guess. It's one of Marie Spadaro's that will be hanging next month. It does kind of of look like a fantasy Cape Cod shape though.

Carol's Open Sew Tuesday

Carol Ayotte has added one Tuesday a month for an open sew class to the schedule!

It starts this Tuesday the 17th from 10 to 4. She is still teaching on one Saturday a month, which is this coming Saturday.
Carol will help with landscapes, Strips and Curves or any of Louisa Smith's quilt styles, Snippets, Paper Piecing, Sweatshirt Jacket, or whatever!!
Here's some of Carol's projects to look at, get inspired and come make one!!

Marie Spadaro is teaching at Tumbleweed! Her first class here will be on February 15!

These first two wallhangings are samples of what you can make in class using a fused appliqué technique.
This flower is one of my favorites, but it's hard to pick!
She did a lot of different designs before Christmas,
some I have already shown on my blog.

Willie finished her hexagon purse! Very cute!!

Here's Willie's scrap quilt that she said used up most of her scraps.
Here's another picture of it. It reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright for some reason. I like it!
This is the back, as usual Willie pieced it. That helps keep the scraps under control!
Carol Lagg made this quilt for her granddaughter, rylie. She plans to give it to her for her 5th birthday!
Ruth took the elephant from Valerie Well's fabric and made an adorable pull toy out of it!

Catch Up

Back in October, Diane showed us her finished "Cape Cod Quilt" that she had added to with some of her own personal blocks! She hand quilted it!

Kathleen had her top finished and was getting ready to hand quilt it! The flag is at half staff because she was working on the house block on 9/11/01.
This very cute little girl named Sadie Rose modeled her car seat cover that her Mom had made! It looked very cozy!
Priscilla Winter made a sampler throw quilt with her "Farmer's Wife Sampler" blocks!
Sue Latis had this pretty green quilt to show us one Wednesday night!
She also made this jelly roll quilt!
Sue McKinley had her jelly roll quilt to show us!
Tricia had the Cape Cod Quilters Raffle Quilt to show us! It's beautiful!

Nancy was at the store for Jo Morton Club and had this to show everyone. Nice job!
Louise Toler made this quilt for her daughter's bed and breakfast.

Sally seemed quite comfortable on the floor while laying out the rows of her quilt.

Here's another look.
Charlotte brought in her version of the same design. I like seeing how the same design looks in different color combinations!
It's from one of Kaffe's books. Now I should tell you which one, but that would involve me getting up from here and going to my sewing room and looking through a lot of Kaffe books to find out which one it if from. Of course when I took the pictures of Sally's and Charlotte's quilts I could have written it down. That would've been too easy and organized. I'm going to work on that this year.

Willie's Friday Open Sew people had a great Christmas party last week! Head gear was worn, Christmas sweaters were plentiful,

food was abundant, and a Good Time Was Had By All!
Mary Ann Karpinski came in today and showed us what she has been working on! First was this bright Dresden Plate quilt that I absolutely love!
Next was another Dresden Plate quilt made with 30's fabric.
Last but definitely not least was this gorgeous appliqué quilt! She's been busy.
I am working on the class schedule and will be done by Monday. I promise! Sorry it is so late.

Nativity Artistry

The Sandwich Glass Museum has an exhibit of Creches from around the World going on that is there through December 30th. If you haven't been to see it, you still have time!

This creche is not there. Actually it's one of mine, but it's a patchwork one so I thought you'd enjoy seeing it.

The exhibit has a lot of different materials used in the making of them.
There was a couple of felted ones.
This Amish one has a quilt designs used in it.
Lots of different bright colored fabrics were used.

This is a Nativity Scene made from frogs. You don't see that everyday!
I've always liked the tin ones from Mexico.
This was a "Cape Cod" Nativity scene, made by a man from Chatham.
There was a lot more to see, so go if you can!

Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope your Christmas has been MERRY! I have photos of things that some people made to give for gifts this year. Some people said not to show them until Christmas. Some didn't but I couldn't remember which was which.

First we have Shirley's quilt that she made with a little help from Carol Ayotte. She made this beautiful photo quilt for her daughter.

It really is a family tree type history quilt. Very much a family heirloom!
Janet Vaughn was around for a couple of days and stopped by. We do miss her! She does like where she lives in New Hampshire now. She made this tabletopper for her daughter after checking with her boyfriend for the kitchen colors currently in her kitchen. With potholders to match.
Then she discovered that the kitchen colors were really blue tones.
Luckily she had time to make a blue set for her!
She also showed us this tee shirt quilt she made for her husband with his runner's tee shirts. Apparently he's been waiting a number of years for this and will be very surprised!
Willie made bags for all of her girls! with matching key fobs and little bags for the inside.
You can see the key fobs and little bags better in this photo. Lucky girls!

Last Minute?

Here are the owls that Keara and Mallory made. This picture was supposed to be further down but got out of order. They're cute, aren't they? They are made using a styrofoam ball.

Is everyone working like an elf to finish things? I started this quilt for me niece for her dorm room bed back in September. You know, make it really quick for her to have right away. That didn't happen. This picture was taken on Thanksgiving day while I was preparing it for me to machine quilt.

It's finally finished for Christmas! I finished sewing the binding and it's done.
Yesterday my nieces decided to make something for my daughter for Christmas. She likes owls this year so Keara found one she wanted to make online here. I don't think they ever used a glue gun before but they did great! This is Mallory making her owl.
Here is Keara with her's.
These are cupcakes that Mallory made yesterday and frosted with her new pastry pump out the frosting thing. They were carrot cake cupcakes from scratch and were really good!

Almost Christmas

Tumbleweed will be closed on December 25 and December 26 for Christmas. We will be closing early on December 24th.

Obsessive Tendencies?

This time of year for some reason I tend to get sidetracked by projects for no other reason than to keep me from doing a lot of the things I really should be doing. Not on purpose, of course, it just happens! These crocheted ornaments were made a year ago after I saw them on the Attic24 blog. I made them after Christmas and got as far as just needing to put beads and balls on them before I lost interest. They'll be done some year soon!

This is the current crop of owls so far this year. I don't need owls, I'm not making them to give away, I just feel like making them. For no reason. Here is Jessica's blog where I got the owl pattern.
These are some of last year's owls. There were more that left at various times of the year. My daughter likes owls and took most of these owls for her owl theme Christmas tree this year. There are some on my Christmas trees, too.
I had started to make different felt ornaments, but the owls were the ones that caught on. I made one cat head, one house, one tree, and I liked them and enjoyed making them. I probably made a dozen birds, but that was not even close to the number of owls.

I felt the need to make these birds one winter when we had the bird making event at the store.
Years ago I felt the need to make snowmen. Lots of snowmen! I think everyone I know has snowmen from that year.
I have about 20 left for my trees.

I also made bigger snowmen that year. I donated a bunch with ice skates to the craft table at the Skate Club Christmas Show. I made a lot of ice skates without snowmen to sell then, too.

I don't know what I was doing when I left the glue in this condition to dry like this.

I'm back! I had to go down to NY for a few days after Thanksgiving and then overnight in Boston so I wasn't around. I hope I was missed.

Cheryl Swift made this quilt called Hanging Gardens with 30's fabrics and brought it along with her to show us.

Lynn Turnbow made this quilt from a Fun and Done pattern in a class taught by Adele here at the store.
She also made this twisty one.
These three bargello table runners were made by Adele.
This placemat, also by Adele, is a Leaves Galore placemat that you can make in a class with Adele. Any Fun and Done pattern and Bargello tablerunners can also be made in a class with Adele.
Here we have Shirley Fisher with her block of the month quilt from Ricky Timms and Alex Anderson's website. It looks like fun!
Dena Stevenson showed us her beautiful hydrangea quilt!
Jan Gunzelman used Kaffe Fasset fabrics to make this quilt from the Laps From Fats, Family and Friends book.
The class schedule for Jan. thru April is not done yet. I'll let you know when it is!

Lots of skeletons! A couple were reorders, but most were brand new!
Thomas Knauer's new line called "Pear Tree" also arrived.

Jackie Deruyter made this quilt using squares hand drawn by the children in K through 5th grade at the Laurel School.

The drawings are really adorable!
I love the pigs!

The back of the quilt is as beautiful and special as the front!
This is another quilt she made, using drawings from the school's preschool students, who were inspired by Kandinsky paintings.
There's an awesome back for this one, too!
The quilts will be auctioned at the school's auction on 11/18/11 at Ocean Edge.

In the Classroom With Adele

These two are Adele's samples for her Primer Class. Changing the shapes and colors around gives you lots of variations.

My favorite booth this year at Quilt Market was the Alexander Henry Fabric Company's booth.
They have a lot of Day of The Dead fabrics and were spotlighting them this year.
I love the Day of the Dead and Halloween, of course.
It was so colorful!
They had a lot of great statues and dolls to look at.

This is a picture of a storefront that I visited while in Houston.
They sold all Day of the Dead items.
These last two guys were in front of another shop, and are handmade.
We have a lot of Day of the Dead fabric in stock and are expecting more that are on order!

Hexagons

Okay! Now I am rocking on MY new computer! Well, kind of. It's not all set up yet but it's ready for blogging. So far the scroll up and down works the opposite of the old one. It's an adjustment. So, today I have hexagons to show you. This is the Paper Pieces booth at Quilt Market.
Everyone at Tumbleweed loves Paper Pieces!
See the big hexagon toward the top of the picture? That's a new large size that is now available. It works great with Kaffe fabrics or any large prints. I've been working on big hexagons with Kaffe florals.
This is another booth with a beautiful hexagon quilt for your viewing pleasure!
Cathy Miller made this one using 1/4 inch Paper Pieces. Congratulations on finishing this!!

Elsa's Daughter Jennifer!

I stopped by Jennifer Sampou's beautiful booth while at Quilt Market.

Jennifer's Mom, Elsa, lives locally and is a frequent visitor to Tumbleweed.

Jennifer is a fabric designer for Robert Kaufman and was introducing her new line called FIESTA!

Jennifer is currently living in Mexico and she drew her inspitation from there.

I took a lot of pictures of her booth, which won a ribbon for being so gorgeous!

Dresses, flowers, pillows,

quilts, handbags;

the booth had it all!

It was pleasure to visit with Jennifer, and she gave me a hug to give to her Mom for her, which I will gladly pass along! I have a little something else from Jennifer to give to her, too.

Quilts From Massachusetts Quilters!

I thought I'd share some of the quilts I saw on display, starting with the one above by Sandy Gregg. I tried to get pictures of the quilts made by people from Massachusetts.

The one above was made by Priscilla Smith.

Below is a group quilt made by Bobbie Sullivan and the Coastal Quilt Artists. Betty Crowell is a member and made one of the slices. Sandy Gregg took the photograph of Copley Square in Boston and it was then diveded into slices for everyone to do.

I took pictures of four sections at a time so you can see some of the details in it.

It's beautiful!

Pat Delaney made this next one. Pat is from Abington.

I took a couple of closeups so you can see details of the quilting.

Diane Loomis made this one. She is from Sudbury.

Next is one made by Timna Tarr, from South Hadley.

I believe this one was done by Tina McCann.

I had another one made by Timna Tarr, but it disappeared. I'll find it again and post it tomorrow. I'm used to an Apple and this is a PC. I'm used to a regular computer and this is a lap top. I do not adjust to new or different technology easily. Posting from here is crazy, the spacing is coming out with big gaps between the photos. I correct them before posting and they seem to go back to big spaces after it posts. Whatever! I know there's probably lots more quilts from Massachusettes that were hanging, I couldn't get pictures of everything. I have a lot more quilt pictures though.

Halloween is almost here! We've had some Halloween quilts hanging all month. The first 5 are all done by Ann Lovendale, the Queen of Halloween!! Here's your clasic Halloween Monster Party Quilt!You have to have witches!

Ruth decorated these black gloves to become werewolf hands for her Grandson! Very Creepy!!

If I don't post for a few days or a week, it's because I am off to Houston for Quilt Market, Quilt Festival, visiting with my sisters, and trick or treating with the kids! I'm going as a Day of the Dead Skeleton Lady this year! I leave Friday and haven't started packing yet. I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Lil Twisters

We are experiencing technical difficulties around my house. My usual computer is not working so I have to use this one and don't like it! The other computer will be replaced soon.
So, the above and below pictures were taken in Willie's Bits and Pieces class. They made Lil Twister wallhangings. The blue one is Dottie's, the Halloween ones belong to Jeanne and Shari.

Sandy made the red and white one on the left, and Suzanne made the Christmas white one.

There was a lot of twisting going on that day! We have three different sizes of templates at the shop. Try it you'll like it!

What's Willie Doing?

Willie's been busy! The current issue of McCall's Quilting magazine has a pattern to make a chenille scarf in it. Willie made a few already! Christmas is coming quick and they make nice presents. She used homespun fabric from our half off room in the back and they came out great! Nice and soft and cozy! We have chenille cutters in stock at a good price! You can come to one of the Open Sew Classes and make your own!

This Scrappy Zappy Do Tablerunner will be taught on November 5. The triangles are actually dimensional and can be folded on one side to give it a different look. Come in and check it out!
The Breezy Weave Bag will be taught on December 3. I've shown you pictures of the woven table toppers and tablerunners that are being made, now a bag!
Willie was playing with the Clover Flower makers recently. It was so easy to do after she showed me how to do it! I much prefer someone else to show me rather than reading the directions myself.
She made a bunch of flowers really quick and was stacking them and had a lot of ideas for them.
She'd be happy to show you how it works anytime!

Fabulous Finds!

Ruth came upon this quilt top recently, I think at a yard sale? She's lucky like that! Or I should say skilled in the art of finding beautiful cast off things.

It's in really good condition. I like the arrangement of the stars with the dark bordered ones in the center and white around it.
Laurie LaConte brought this gorgeous quilt in to show us today! She bought this top on ebay and then machine quilted it with her long arm machine.
It presented quite a challenge when the borders needed to be taken off and re-attached after she had already started quilting it!
It was definitely worth the work!!

This is another of Ruth's finds! I think she found this one at Brimfield.
It has beautiful shapes in it - circles, diamonds, smaller circles.
See, no reason to stress about having unfinished tops around! Somewhere, somehow, sometime, someone we acquire them and finish them with lots of enjoyment and love!

Woven Tumbling Blocks With Willie!

Caroline Shook's Bags!

When Caroline Shook comes into the store, you can be sure she will be carrying an interesting bag! This summer she made a bag with a picture of her garden bench, complete with a clay person on it!

She takes a picture and photo transfers it to fabric and uses it to make a bag!
Here's another view of her garden!
She always has a matching zipper bag inside!
When she carries her blueberry basket bag, people want to feel the "basket" part of it to see if it is really a basket or not!

We have Meredith's quilts on display this month! This one is from Kaffe Fassett's "Country Garden" book.

Meredith is also inspired by the "Material Obsession" book! (Another one of my personal favorites!)

This quilt in person looks so rich, vibrant, velvety, I don't know how to describe it. The fabric is regular cotton but the color looks very deep. Do you know what I mean?

This time the birthday girl was Jeanne Carey!

There were party favors, of course!

Believe it or not, some actual work got done!
Susanne happily sewed away on her machine!

N.Y.

There was some fun things to do and see while in N.Y. I passed a shoe store with this American flag made of a piece of sheer fabric and safety pins hanging in the window.

It was Fashion Week, and Kevin's firehouse is at 66 and Amsterdam, right by Lincoln Center. There were lots of interesting people around there to see!
This vehicle was parked in front of Lincoln Center.
I stopped by the Folk Art Museum to see the National Tribute Quilt.
I found Kevin's name in this section, a close-up is in my previous post.
Capt. Patrick Brown, my brother-in-law's cousin who was also killed, was here. I thought I'd snapped a picture of Eugene Whalen's block, but I guess I didn't. He was my cousin Rose's husbånd's cousin who was another fireman killed.
They had other quilts on display I was lucky enough to be able to see.
A lot of different styles were represented.
This one has a fun color combination!

I always like hexagons!

These settings were different than you usually see for crazy quilts.

This one was a baby quilt size "Starburst" design that was really different! I'd never seen one like this before.

This was just one block, about maybe 24 inches square. I wonder if the maker wasn't able to make more blocks to complete a quilt, or if after one block she decided that applique was not for her, like a lot of us quilters do!
This one was bright in person, the picture is blurry. Kind of a improv one.
I loved this pink one! Very different and freeform!

This is really cool!

Back to the Memorial for a minute! At one point I turned and saw my sister Kathy and cousin Amy with this man, so of course I snapped a picture! It turned out it was Michael Arad, the architect who designed the 9/11 Memorial!
He signed Kathy's and my copies of our brother's name rubbing and chatted for a few minutes.
You know how at quilt shows sometimes people hang around their quilt to see how people react and if they like it? That was what it seemed like he was doing. He was so nice and seemed in awe of his own work! It was a nice moment. He really did a good job.

Long Weekend!

Snippets of a long weekend down in New York:

There was time for remembering,
time for quiet,
lots of pipers from Boston piping for us,
It was nice of them to do that!
Things went by in a blur, for example cabs that looked like quilts.
We found Kevin's name in the Folk Art Museum,
and also down at the Memorial Site.
Art projects were done,
geometric shapes were looked at,
beautiful texture discovered,
and that's it for now because I am really tired!

Ruth Wilcox's Granddaughter, Mikala, and her friend, Emily, came to visit for a few days and made quilts while they were there! Mikala (on the left) made her quilt to give to her new sister, Hailey, who is 5 months old! Emily has a new little brother named Henrik, who will be receiving the quilt she made!

Nancy Vincent did a lot of math figuring out the multiple borders on this quilt! It was worth it, because it looks great and everything fits wonderfully!
Jessica Woods-Robinson made a adorable hat for her niece! What a cool sparkly ornament on the side!
Maria Spadaro has been very busy with her new sewing machine! She's been playing with raw edge applique, machine quilting, jewels, a little paint, and who knows what! The results are beautiful!
Here's another one that she made! The fish are practically transparent and kind of glow!

We lucked out and didn't get the full force of Irene! The store is still closed today. There's still a lot of wind expected that will make it not a good idea to drive.

Our electricity has been blinking but so far we still haven't lost it!
Just in case we do lose it, I am ready! I have strips to cut, embroidery to finish,
a book to finish and a couple of more loaded on my reader. The reader has a nice light that allows me to read in the dark. I have hexagons to do too. Always!

Sister Trip

They had a great week and had lots to show us!
They finished some UFO'S and still had time to start some new projects.

Today a group of ladies from the "Proper Bostonians" Quilt Guild spent the day in our classroom!

They came in to take a Landscape Class with Carol Ayotte!
They spread out and had a wonderful day of making landscapes!

The tablerunner on the left was made by Liz Halloran and is her summer picnic table runner. If it was mine, I wouldn't let people with food anywhere near it!

The tablerunner on the right (not in the style of Louisa Smith) was made by Patty Williams and is the result of her experimenting with her new sewing machine.

This amazing quilt is from "Alphabet Cards" by Melissa Sweet.
She made it for her Granddaughter.
It's fun to look at each block and see all the things that begin with the block's letter, like R for rooster, rain cloud, rainbow,row boat, and river!

The background fabric on this one is actually candy corn! Halloween is one of Anne's favorite holidays!
This one has lots of busy mermaids!

The pattern for this one is from Vintage Spool and is called "Gifts From the Sea".

Paula Tuano, along with Mary Wheatley, were the "2011 Featured Quilters" at the Bayberry Quilt Show. Paula started quilting in 1996, and here are some of her quilts that were on display. Tomorrow I will have Mary's to show you.

First up is "mom". Paula worked from the formal wedding photo of her mother taken in April, 1942. Hand appliqued, hand and machine quilted. This quilt is almost life size and the detail is amazing!

Cape Cod National Seashore Challenge Quilts

This year's Challenge at the Bayberry Quilt Show commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Members were asked to design a quilt representing anything related to the National Seashore.

There was this big shell and lobster pot display in front of the display!
Definitely click on each picture to make it bigger to see these wallhangings!
They were beautiful!
Some of them look like photographs or paintings!

If you didn't get to the show to see them, they will be going on display at the National Seashore in September. I will find out when and where and let you know! It would be worth a visit to see them.

Bayberry Quilt Show

I did manage to make it to the Show and take some pictures. I'll share them with you over the next few days.

This is done by Marjorie Lydecker and is hand pieced,quilted, appliqued, and embroidered, and inspired by Elly Sienkiewicz's patterns.

Next is a group quilt by Marjorie Lydecker and 18 of her students. Baltimore squares by Elly Sienkiewicz, Jinny Beyer compass design, hand pieced,quilted, appliqued, and embroidered.
Sydney Glover's quilt was worked in a class with Marge Lydecker and is hand pieced, appliqued, quilted, and embroidered.
Frances Abell Brand made this one! It has lace appliqued on it and is hand pieced and quilted.
Here's another of Frances Abell Brand's quilts, hand and machine pieced, hand quilted.

Virginia's Quilts

Virginia Pena brought in 2 special quilts to show us! This first depicts her interpretation of the Mysteries of the Rosary. This quilt is very special to her!

She added personal details. Like Joseph, her husband is a carpenter. As a little nod to him she made the table with only three legs! I guess carpenters, like quilters, sometimes have UFO's!
I love the rosary beads made out of french knots in this block.
Of course Baby Jesus sparkles!
The second quilt depicts pictures that her granddaughters did of their time on the Cape while visiting their grandmother.
I wish everyone could've been in the shop to hear her talk about each block! This one has little bits of antique lace for collars, and she reminded us to never throw out anything, even the littlest bit could be used for something!
Love the stick people!
These quilts were all done by hand, in the style of Jane Bolton. Family treasures!!

We've received a lot of fabric lately! Silent Cinema by Jenean Morrison for Freespirit arrived!

Also from Freespirit we received some Loulouthi by Anna Marie Horner and Aviary II by Joel Dewberry!
Some Kaffe came in that were reorders that we couldn't be without!
These new black and white fabrics have a lot of movement in them and would do wonders in a quilt!
Have you noticed the giant nest on the telephone pole on 6A heading to the left out of our parking lot a little before the railroad tracks? People have asked us about it. I'm told that it's occupied by ospreys, but it looks like Big Bird's nest to me. It's big enough!
I've seen two occupants flying to and from it. I don't know if there are baby ospreys in it or not. I like seeing it on my way home from the store.

A gentleman stopped in the shop yesterday asking if we had any empty spools. He needs some to make clamps to use while repairing violins. These smaller Coats Dual Duty spools are the right size, so if anyone has any empty spools to give us we will pass them on.

These new summery fabrics arrived this week. Flip Flops and ice cream cones and polka dots and stripes!
Of course, since it's July we're getting new Christmas fabric! Time to start if you are making anything for Christmas!
Cheryl was using her latest bag creation this week! Nice fabric combo!

Ann and Charlotte are visitors from Australia! Their local quilt shop is Material Obsession, which is one of my favorite quilt shops that I have never been to! This adorable little girl was having a good time playing while her Grandma shopped!

She was happy to get up and model her outfit for me to take a picture, and then happily went back to playing with the toys!
Maia, in the colorful skirt, and Ellie, in the pretty dress, were also happy to pose for a picture so everyone could see their outfits that their Grandma had made for them!
Carol Antis brought in the little dresses she made for her Granddaughters! These are reversible. Lucky girls!

I had some time for sewing in June, even though I had company for the entire month! I made this baby quilt for a friend of my daughter's baby girl. I was instructed to make it in this color scheme with "Amy Butler" beachy fabrics, whatever that is. So, there's Amy Butler fabric and some other ones, with some sand, seahorses, and shells mixed in.

I had seen this quilt that Terry Curry had made and loved it, so I decided to use that pattern for the baby quilt. It's from the "Jelly Roll Quilts" book.

In case you have a bird cage that you don't know what to do with because you don't have a bird, or you keep wanting to buy a bird cage that you have no use for but you want one anyway, here's a helpful hint for you! I put all of my strips inside it after I cut them and pulled them out of there to sew them! It worked great, you could pull from anywhere, top bottom, middle of the pile and you could see enough to easily grab whatever color strip you would like to use next. And it looked a lot better than my usual random pile falling all over the place! Just saying!

My big giant hexagons multiplied nicely.
I really like them!
I'm using all Kaffe Fasset giant flowered fabrics. I have 18 done so far.
Not bad for a busy month time wise! I hope July is as productive for me!

Willie has finished her hexagon quilt!! It's absolutely beautiful! All those little hexagons, all sewn together! It was beautifully quilted by Laurie LaConte.

Marilyn Holle brought in her blue and white quilt top that she finished in a class with Willie! It's gone home with Laurie and will be returned all quilted!
Debbie Zeida finished her bag that is to be her bag to carry her Jo Morton projects! It is really cool! Lots of pockets and dividers to keep everything all organized.
