Halloween Quilts

Halloween is coming! I love Halloween!!
Anne Lovendale loves Halloween!! We were lucky enough this year to have Anne's Halloween quilts hanging in the shop for the month of September.
She'll need them back of course for October, as her house turns into a Halloween Fantasyland during that month.
The cat quilt and the candy corn are my favorites this week.
I really like the monster lab party and the pumpkins and gourds too.
I've always liked witches though.

They're all great!
You have until the end of the month to see them in person.
There's still time to make Halloween pillowcases for your little goblins!
Did you notice all the "Followers" are gone from the side of my blog? Apparently the site people did something with a "widgit" and changed the "Followers" format or something I really don't need to understand because I'll have my computer guy figure it out for me. It's weird to go on my blog and see my people missing. I miss them!

Monday

This is a pretty colored quilt started by Mary O'Prey and finished by the Monday Morning Group. Elaine Dwyer quilted it.
Mary has finished embroidering and putting together her "Over the River and Thru the Woods" quilt.
Nancy has finished her baby boy quilt. It's so cute!
We have the patterns for these at the shop!

Blue and White

Aren't blue and white quilts great? They always look so crisp and fresh.
This one was made by Carolyn McShane, who is the new President of the Rising Star Quilt Guild in Lexington, Massachusetts.
It's a scrappy tessellated design using about six different whites.
Have fun and enjoy your time as Guild President!

Quilts

Susan Wencek, Bette Ann Mahohey's sister, brought her huge pink and brown log cabin quilt in to show us.
She is making it for her Mother-In-Law for Christmas. (Don't tell-it's a secret!)
Here's Nancy's latest! A Lover's Knot Quilt. This one is the updated version of Eleanor Burn's book. You too can make one in one of Nancy's "Quilt In a Day" classes!

Visitors

Isn't this a nice time of year on the Cape? I think it's my favorite. Sweater weather. Just a little cool. Glinnis and Allan Cox enjoy it too. They are here on their 8th annual trip to Cape Cod from England.
Everyone at the shop loved her bag.
Here's a closer look. It is a wool bag with lots of embellishments. Sequins, spangles, cording, embroidery, whatever! Of course we all want one and started collecting and making piles of stuff to use on our bags.
Maybe they'll even make it past the piles of stuff stage! One can only hope!

Fun Stuff!

The new Kaffe Fassett book has arrived! Yeah!! His books are great! I love the settings he puts the quilts in for the photos. Absolutely beautiful.
We also received Kaffe's Designer Rolls. These are 2 1/2 inch by 42 inch strips.
For all you Heather Ross/Munki Munki fans, I found these pjs at Marshalls yesterday. Her ice cream truck fabric and her vans fabric. A helpful hint: if you buy the pjs in sizes that don't fit you, it's easier to cut into them. And, of course, the bigger the size you get, the more fabric it is!

Patterns

Ellie Ringer was at open sew on Monday afternoon and made a nice little zippered pouch. I love her purse!
Lynn Conroy also made a zippered pouch. We do carry the pattern for the pouch, in case you can't come to an open sew.
Kathy Gaul, of Meetinghouse Designs has added a couple of new patterns to her line. Her samples with the wooden frames are fabulous!
Here's another one.
Here are some more of her designs that we carry in the shop.

Come in and see them all!
