Quilt Show

The Lowell Quilt Show is this weekend.  Adele Scott is vending at the show and is looking for help manning her booth for a few hours on whatever day you are going to be there.  Give her a call at 508-237-1793 if you are able to lend her a hand.

Margaret Sullivan machine pieced and hand quilted her Stars of the States quilt.

Margaret loves scraps, and doesn't let much go to waste as you can see by her sashing.  Click to get a better look at all the tiny pieces!

Mary Wheatley hand pieced her Still Tumblin' quilt using QuiltPatis 1-1/2 diamonds.  She hand and machine quilted it.

She went around every diamond!!

Mary Wheatley's Red and White quilt was started in 2009.  The New York Red and White Show and a    new sewing machine inspired her to complete it in 2011.  She machine pieced and quilted it and used Margaret Sullivan's "strip teasing" technique for sashing.

Cynthia Harris made this quilt in a class with Marjorie Lydecker.

Here's Marjorie's quilt!  They were both hand pieced, appliquéd, quilted, and embroidered.

Marjorie Farquharson hand pieced, appliqued and quilted her quilt called "Inspiration".

Frances Abell Brand hand and machine pieced and hand quilted her quilt.

Marilyn Swenson started this center medallion in class with Elly Sienkiewicz.  She designed the quilt around it using Jinny Beyer's "Blue Sapphire" as inspiration.  Hand pieced, appliquéd, quilted and embroidered.

Red and White

If you didn't get to the Bayberry Quilt Show yet you should go tomorrow!  Saturday is the last day and it's open until 3.

There's a lot of really nice quilts there to see!

Always Something Going On!

Wondering what everyone is looking at?  Carol's class is all on the porch!  

On Saturday, July 21 we were once again honored to have the Third Annual Memorial Motorcycle Ride in honor of Corporal Nicholas Xiarhos USMC and our fallen heroes of Cape Cod pass by our store!  All the customers, staff, and students in class were out in the parking lot to cheer them on!  There were over 1000 motorcycles participating in the ride.  It was an awesome tribute and very moving!

Marina, pictured here, was visiting from the Netherlands recently and stopped in to Tumbleweed!  Marina has a blog, which you can see here to see the pictures of Tumbleweed and lots of other shops she has stopped at in her travels!

Pat Mulkeen made this beautiful scrap quilt and had it quilted by Lisa Pasquarosa!

Carol Ayotte brought in this gorgeous wallhanging to show us!  I love the bright colors!  Beautiful!
