My Quilts

I have some of my quilts hanging this month at the store. This one is called "Mutant Doilies". It has some crocheting over parts of it. Click for more detail.

This one is 92 by 92 and I used Denyse Schmidt fabrics.
This is a fun one I made because I wanted to make something with the furniture fabrics.

Misc.

In spite of the holidays and snow, people seem to be moving right along on their quilts!

Aileen Domos made this one from scraps she had.

Here's a "Southwest Flavor" quilt top to brighten up January done by Sandy Checklick. She bought the fabric in Albuequerque.
Maura Millbern finished her brown and black batik quilt. I need to make a brown and black quilt one of these days.
Janet Herterick is making this quilt as a shower gift for a Bruins fan! She picked out the border and backing fabrics today.

Snow Day!

Tumbleweed is closed today due to the weather.

Today is a good day to stay home and quilt and be cozy!

Snow Day?

We're probably going to get some amount of snow tomorrow, somewhere between .9 and 10 inches, depending on which forecast you listen to. Adele's class, "Leaves with Ease", is already cancelled. It will happen on what was going to be the second day of class, Jan. 26.

If the weather is questionable tomorrow, please call before coming to the store. I feel like I used to feel waiting to find out whether or not school was going to be closed. I hate waiting!

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, January 25, Willie will be teaching the "Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt". It will be a once a month class. Each month a couple of blocks from the quilt will be taught.

Willie has a lot of blocks already made and hanging at the store. She is making these blocks completely from her scraps. It's a great way to use scraps while learning the different techniques used in making the blocks.
She has another set of blocks she is making using only black and white with a touch of red and yellow thrown in.
Come and make some in your favorite choice of fabrics!

Carol's Back!

Carol Ayotte will be back teaching the "Crazy Quilter" ladies, starting off on Saturday, January 22 and continuing one Saturday each month!

She will also be in the store one Tuesday a month starting on January 18, from 10-4 , and then February 15, March 15, and April 5, for an "Open Sew Potpourri". If you have wanted to learn to do felting, make a fabric landscape, learn paper piecing, try a Strips and Curves for a wallhanging or a tablerunner, learn doll making, trim a sweatshirt, or simply continue to work on a piece in progress, just bring your ideas to this Open Sew and get started!
So, meanwhile, Carol has been very busy! These four baby quilts pictured here are all made by Carol.

Debbie Z. is making this Boy Scout Quilt for a donation to a fund raiser.

I think these are tablerunners that Debbie Z. made.
Ursula Lincoln made this one. She added the cream colored little strips that set it off nicely!
