Annmarie Gavin brought in this top she made from a pattern called "African Journey".

Another customer brought in two just finished quilts - one with 30's fabrics and one using Kaffe Fasset fabrics, and the beginning of one using Asian fabrics.  

Quite an ecletic assortment!

March Quilt Exhibit

The new Quilt Exhibit this month is Quilts by the Monday Morning Quilters.

We were looking at these sewing boxes and a comment was made about how UGLY they were! Some of us immediately took offense to that! Ideas started flying about what could be done to make them funky and cool.
We decided to make a contest out of it and everyone is invited to participate.
Purchase one of our ugly sewing boxes at $9.95 and go to it. No limitations - just have fun.
Return your decorated box to Tumbleweed by April 30. Starting May 1, each time you visit Tumbleweed, you can vote for your favorite.
The winning box decorator will receive a $25 Tumbleweed gift certificate and a choice of gazelle scissors.
Second prize, $15 Tumbleweed gift certificate and a choice of gazelle scissors.
Third prize, $10 gift certificate and a choice of gazelle scissors.
A free magnetic pincushion will be given to all who participate.

Pillowcases again!

We took down the pillowcases. I brought mine home and had a hard time deciding which ones to put on my bed first.

Applique class

Here she is!

Marianne Vaudreuil, of the Cape Cod Miniature Society and the Monday morning quilters at Tumbleweed, is on the cover of Primetime Cape Cod magazine this month.  Plus she has a centerfold!  Her miniatures are great!  The detail is amazing.  Congratulations Marianne!

Technical blog stuff

Things I've learned about blogs in the week I've been blogging.

1-First of all, the fact is that nothing about computers comes easy
for me. It's all a great mystery.

2-One cool thing I discovered is that if you click on a picture it
gets bigger. I knew that happened other places on the computer, but I didn't realize it happened on my blog.

3-Posting a comment was confusing (Thank you to everyone who has already figured it out!) I consulted with my techies and learned how so I could pass it on to you:

1-Click comments at the end of a post.



2-At the bottom portion of the screen you'll see a white rectangular box that says "Post a Comment" above it. Type your comment in the white box.



3-Underneath the box it says: 'Comment as: select profile'

Click the arrows next to select profile and a list appears. If you have a gmail account you can click google account.


If not, go down to name/URL and click it. A white box opens that says Edit Profile with a space to type in your name.
Type your name. Most people don't have a URL (whatever that is) so ignore it and click continue.
If you'd prefer, you can click anonymous instead of name/URL.

4-Click on Post Comment underneath the white box.
5-You're done!

Cape Visitors

Here's a picture of Mary Ann and friends on the biannual visit to the Cape.  They stay at the Inn at Lewis Bay in South Yarmouth, owned by Janet (an avid quilter and former employee of Tumbleweed) and her husband David.  Janet has made quilts for all of the beds in the Inn.

We also welcomed a group of 150 quilters from the Seacrest in Falmouth and a group from the Marriott Courtyard in Hyannis.

A good time was had by all!
