I love Kaffe fabric! I think this is a quilt that Linda made, her first one, for her daughter. I take pictures and write the name and info on a piece of paper and sometimes it's hard to match up my cryptic notes with the picture.

Doris Gage West brought this one in to pick out a border. It's a really fun quilt, with the whirly things and chickens.
Just a cool button picture from the store! Great buttons for bags. They are large and lightweight.
Debbie McKenzie beaded these birds and is waiting for the perfect project to use them.
If she ever needs a beaded bird for something, she is ready! They are beautiful!

Misc.

Paula Tuano had this wallhanging to work on Thursday morning. All that is left to do is the binding.

She's finishing up this one too. Making the U.F.O. pile a little smaller, a little at a time!
Willie took apart and rearranged some hexagons she had and this was the result.
A fun arrangement on a fun background!

Quilts

This is a "Row Robin" quilt that Mary Jane Eicholzer is working on. She lived in New Jersey and got together with 7 women from the http://www.mousecreekquilts.com/ to quilt. So, each person does a row and passes it on to the next person. She does it long distance now, since she's moved to the Cape. It's a fun way to stay connected to friends!

Caren Wheelwright made this quilt from an Amy Butler Book. It's HUGE! No worries about someone stealing your covers with this quilt, there's enough to go around!
Paula Klaus is ready to layer this Trip Around the World top. It's beautiful! The colors just glow!
Carole Antis is back from down south and has been busy! She made this quilt for her daughter and a matching tuffet (Gumdrop Pillow)! Lucky girl!

Bag Classes

I thought I'd show you the newest bags Willie will be teaching in the next few months, starting with the Diamond Island Tote. Willie will be teaching this one on Sunday, May 16.

The Grommet Grab Bag is scheduled for Sunday, June 13.
This one was made by Katie, Willie's daughter, and will be taught on Sunday, July 11. It has a bunch of pockets inside and would be useful for anyone to carry, not just as a diaper bag.
Amy Butler's new bag, the Sweet Harmony Handbag, will be taught on Sunday, August 15.
If you can't wait for these dates or they don't fit into your schedule, you can come on any Friday during Open Sew and Willie can help you then.

Misc.

This is a yo yo quilt put together by Sheila Crowley with the yo yos she and her Mom, Mildred Crowley, made while her Mom was in the nursing home. Mildred taught both her daughters to sew and was always happiest with a needle in her hand. Sadly, Mildred passed away last year and her daughter just put the finishing stitches in this special treasure.

Pat VanBrandenburg always stops by when she in on the Cape and this time had this gorgeous purple quilt to show everyone!
Lois is almost finished with this pinwheel quilt for a lucky baby!
Shirley stopped in to find sashing fabric for these blocks. Each block was made by a friend or family member and sent to Shirley to be put together.
They were given a farm theme and this is what they came up with. They are adorable!

Friday Fun

Jessica Wood spent Friday in the classroom with Willie and made these 2 tuffets.

She stuffed her big tuffet with 7 1/2 pounds of stuffing and her smaller one with 7 pounds. She wanted them nice and firm. There's nothing worse than a saggy tuffet!
Dot Hannon spent her time appliqueing a small window wallhanging.
Dolores sewed a binding on a tabletopper for her daughter.
Here it is all done!
Marilyn worked on a rail fence quilt.
First she finished this trip around the world.

Catching Up

I'm late! The class schedule is finally done. There's a link on the right to click to see it. There's also a link for information about a Red Sox Kids Quilt Contest. And a link to info about a day we've set aside (July 14) to make sports theme quilts to give to the Wrapped Up In Sports, Inc. organization for them to give to children in medical, social, and mental-health need. It's been a week of paperwork for me!

Back to quilting! Willie is teaching this tablerunner today! I know, I'm late! If you're saying "I wish I would have known sooner!" have no worries! Willie will show you how to make it on any Friday. She's in the classroom every Friday so you can make tablerunners, bags, quilts, etc. with her help.

Let me introduce you to Polly Poons! For those of you who don't know, Polly was Juliet Low's pet bird. Juliet Low was the the founder of the Girl Scouts of America. Barbara Finnerty made Polly in her honor and brought her in to hang out with the rest of the flock.
Nicole Koloski made this tongue-in-cheek crow, waiting to be served at the Piping Plover Cafe.
