Quilts

This is a peek at my skeletons and lace quilt that is coming along.
I spent last night on the couch un-gathering lace so I can use it in the borders. I also did a little crocheting.
Kathryn Butterworth's quilts are on display this month. I have to take pictures of them to post. This is a quilt top she's finished that we got to see today.
It's all red polka dot fabric and lots of shirtings! What fun!
Priscilla Willard was by to get border fabrics for these two baby quilts she has to finish. The one on the left has fabric I used about twelve years ago at least to make a couple of baby quilts. I should find pictures of them. I loved that fabric!

Quilts

The next tablerunner that Willie will be teaching is this one from Bits & Pieces on March 5th.

This beautiful quilt was made by Midge Concannon. I love blue and white quilts! I keep saying that I'm going to make one.
Pat Mulkeen is working on this batik quilt. It's coming along great!
This quilt top was made by Nicole Baguley. It's a design by Evelyn Sloppy called Honeyberries.
Here's a closer look!

Thursday morning Studio Club

Thursday mornings there's always a lot of variety of things to look at! First up we have Micki with a Halloween quilt to show us. Notice she matches her quilt!
Micki is also wearing a necklace she made with pieces of vegetables. Really.
Vi has a vegetable necklace on that she made, too. She combined the vegetables with regular beads. They've made some cool jewelry out of vegetables on Thursdays!
Nancy has on a hat that she knitted, felted, and embellished. It's really cute!
Here's Pat happily doing something, and Jessica happily knitting.
Pat is appliqueing away on her quilt!

Misc. Jo Morton

Michael and Kailey came in today with Michael's Mom, Marie, and Kaieley's Mom and Grandma to pick out fabric for a quilt! The 1st grade in St. Pius X School in Yarmouth is making a quilt for the Spring Auction on April 29th. They picked out some awesome colors!
The rest of today's pictures are all of fabric.
All of this Jo Morton fabric came in yesterday!

I think it's easier to see in these pictures of fat quarters.
So, enjoy!

Mary Wheatley's Quilts

Mary Wheatley brought in a few of her latest projects. She has finished this wallhanging that she paper pieced ala George Siciliano. Such teeny tiny pointy little pieces!
This is another one!
This one is still in two pieces that will probably be sewn together like this.
Just for fun she brought these in to show me; she knows I like embroidery. She embroidered these many years ago for her daughter who was attending MIT at the time.
Here's the back. She used pearl cotton because she finds the color stays bright. These have been worn and washed repeatedly and the embroidery looks as bright as when she first did it!
Mary always brings fun things for us to see!

Wednesday Afternoon with Debbie.

Debbie's students were busy busy busy last Wednesday! First we have Jeannine Wolfe showing us her Tulip Quilt! I do wish Spring would arrive!
This is Jeannine's "stuff". She's working on a quilt using 30's fabrics.
Kathy Paige Smith was working on this wreath wallhanging. She's going to be ready for Christmas this year!!
Patty Williams was practicing her machine quilting.
Evie Gauthier is behind this Jo Morton Wallhanging. I love the border fabrics she chose!
This is a very rare site to behold, Barbara Winiakski sitting at her sewing machine and actually sewing something! I was lucky to be able to get this picture! Look at all the 4-patches she has done!! You go girl!!!
Ann-Marie Gavin was working on a tee shirt quilt with her brothers tee shirts.
Toni Ricciardi was busy making lavendar stars.

Quilts

Rhiannon made this quilt as a shower gift and stopped in to show it to us first!
Customers use our fabric for all different things! Ellen Temkin did "chicken scratch" embroidery on this gingham fabric. The heart design is her entry in a challenge for the National Pomegranate Guild.
The Spring design was from the Embroiders Guild.

Vi Olsen showed us her Ricky Timms wallhanging. Very colorful!
Cheryl Leveque made this king size quilt for her daughter, who just got married!
JoAnne finished this top made with 30's fabrics!

PEMBROKE Tumbleweed Update

I already have an update on the PEMBROKE Tumbleweed Closing Sale!
Starting tomorrow everything in the store is 20% off.
I will keep you informed!

PEMBROKE Tumbleweed Closing

Ron and Judy have asked me to post the following announcement concerning the Tumbleweed Quilt Shop in PEMBROKE ONLY:

After 30 years we have decided to close the PEMBROKE location and focus on our main store in West Barnstable. We would like to thank our many customers for the business over the years, and our employees for their service. At this time we are preparing the PEMBROKE store for a "big going out of business sale" which will hopefully begin around February 28th. We are still open during this preparation period with everything in the store 10% off, and some things 25% or more as we start marking them down. We will post further information as we figure out how to run the sale. Feel free to call for further details. (781-293-6400) We plan to continue the classes for the time being."

Bobbie Sullivan's Latest

Bobbie stopped by and showed us some of the things she has been working on lately!
She made these two quilts using bali pops (plus some extra fabric from her stash)!
She also has been challenging herself by doing a postcard-a-day for the month of February.
She journals about the day and why she chose that design on the back of each postcard.
She also makes a "stamp" out of fabric! What a fun project!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you're having a Happy Valentine's Day today! This is Kim Keith's Valentine Quilt, all pinks and reds and quilted with hearts by Laurie LaConte!
Katherine Butterworth brought this "in process quilt" in to pick out more dots for it.
It grew a lot bigger and here it is, all ready for binding! (Machine quilted by Laurie)
Reinette finished this scrap quilt in Saturday's Quilt In A Day Class.
Anyone need any blue fabric? We received this fabric today. It's from the "Blue Storm" line from Marcus Fabrics.
