Misc.

Rhiannon Reynolds is pictured here with her latest quilt - a tee shirt quilt she made for a friend's parents!

Mary Ann Karpinsky is ready to layer her latest applique quilt!  Click it for more detail!

Ellie Johansen brought in her pieced quilt for the fall to show us!

Everyone's been busy making quilts!  Do you have a lot of quilt tops laying around waiting to be finished?  There is still room in the Machine Quilting Class on Saturday, September 28th!  This Saturday from 10-4.  I took this class from Betty and highly recommend it!  Especially if you are a last minute kind of girl like I am!  Like Oh no the baby shower is this weekend and I have to finish this quilt!  Of course you can't beat sending it out if it is a large quilt, but you'd be surprised at what you can
do with your own regular machine! It's actually relaxing.

Baby Quilts

Lately I've found myself making baby quilts lately!  It seems to happen in cycles, no babies for long periods of time and then a lot of babies!  Here's some of the latest that I've made.
Here's a gender neutral beach fabric quilt!

This one is for a baby girl that is going to have an Alice in Wonderland theme room!

I could only find enough Alice print in my stash for a border and a 1/2 yard of Alice word fabric for pinwheels!

The color is bad on this photo.  The fabric is gray and cream.  It does look better in person!

My niece made the elephant button picture!

A tuffet (Amy Butler's Gumdrop Pattern) is always good for a baby's room!

Another gray and yellow quilt with a bit of turquoise thrown in!

And the babies keep coming!!

Blast From The Past

I was up in Boston on Friday helping my niece move into her dorm and was able to stop in to the Museum of Fine Arts nearby.  They were having a special exhibit of fashion from the "Hippie" time period!
Complete with juke box with late sixties, early seventies, music!

Look at these two dresses!

Click this one for a closer look, the dress is appliquéd and quilted!

This one was pieced crazy quilt style and also had some appliqué with hand and machine embroidery!  What fun!!

Here's what was said about this crazy quilt dress:

I don't remember anyone wearing anything like this Little House On The Prairie outfit,

but the shape does look like an exaggerated version of my bridesmaid gown for my Uncle's wedding!

I swear I remember having shirts made with this print!

I had a similar style gown for another wedding I attended.  Remember how popular plaid couches were back then?  Rich's jacket kindof blends in!

Here's a better look at the gown!  It laced up and tied in the front.

Here's my sister Kathy with her similar style gown for her prom!
