Mallory

My 12 year old niece, Mallory, was visiting from Houston and decided to make a quilt. She picked the fabric, arranged it on the design wall,

and sewed and sewed.
Next it was layered and pinned.

She machine quilted it in the ditch.
Then came the binding. Jack helped.
The finished quilt!!
The perfect vacation activity!

Show Time!

Tomorrow is the 1st day of the Bayberry Quilt Show. It's from 9:30-4:00 on Thursday and Friday, and 9:30-3:00 on Saturday. It's held at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.

(Exit 10 off Route 6, north on Route 124) It's a really enjoyable show, go if you can.

Sally Walther made this Rail Fence Quilt for her Granddaughter, Lucy Rose Cumming. Lucky girl!

Jeannine finished these two placemats. The teacups in the middle are embroidered. I'm always worried about spilling something when there's something this nice under my plate.
Debbie is working on this baby quilt. It's coming along.

Quilts

30's fabrics are so cheerful! Kay Alvezi made this quilt from the book "Link to The Thirties" by Kay Connors and Karen Earlywine. Trish Wolski quilted it for her. It's beautiful!

Nancy Hastings and her granddaughter Susannah did a summer project together. They each made the same quilt from a Kaffe Fassett book. Here are the results:

Kids Classes

We're about half way through the kids classes and they are going well. The remaining classes are all filled up. Here's Abby, Katie, and Abby showing their headbands they made.

How do you like our flowers? Aren't they fun? The rolled fat quarter packs looked a bit like flower pots to us so we added flowers.
It brightened up a rainy day!

Quilts

Vi Olsen has her Aunt Bessie's old fabric. She made this quilt using it and is going to make more using the fabric for her children. They'll be able to cuddle under it and remember Aunt Bessie. That's nice!

Judy is making a Halloween quilt. It's coming along nicely. She picked out a border fabric.
Alice finished two stockings that she needlepointed. They are Fabulous!!

Quilts to see

Chris O'Neil showed us her quilt top she made from the Patches and Pinwheels pattern from quiltville. There's more patterns to choose from on that site.

Florence is doing redwork and has finished one wallhanging and needs to make two more for

the other sisters.
Ronnie Hiney was up from New York and had this pastel quilt to show us.
She also had this wonderful bag to inspire us. She's always doing something fun!

Carol is back on Fridays!

Carol is finally back on Fridays for the all day open sew classes. Yeah!! She has been missed!

First a knee operation, then a shoulder. Hopefully she'll take a break from becoming the bionic woman and stick around for awhile!

Here is the next two table runners for the classes on July 25 and August 1.
If you can't come to an open sew or other class, there's always the Grab And Go Kits available.

Everything you need, even scissors, is included in the kit. Great for travelers needing a project.
There's lots of choices of kits to choose from.

What's Willie been doing?

Willie has been doing diamonds lately. A lot of diamonds.

She has these two quilts finished. The diamond obsession is spreading to the Monday

morning class.
Now her diamonds are joining together into an even bigger star.
In between diamonds she made this bag from Amy Butler's new software.
Her daughter is just back from visiting Japan. She brought her back these cute pincushions. The larger girl in the hat pincushion was a gift from a friend.

New Fabric

We have new fabrics that would be great for backgrounds. Click for a better look.There's a variety of patterns and colors. Perfect for scrappy quilts.
Pat has been making quilts for her boys. Here's pictures of two that she has finished.
Her boys are going to love them!

New threads

We received our new Sulky Cotton Thread cabinet, filled with beautiful new colors!

Look at these feet!! They belong to Kailey, Maggie, and Annie. They stopped in to the store

and showed us their beaded decorations for when they are on the beach with no shoes on. What a cool idea!
Kate showed us her skirt she made herself and the favorite skirt belonging to her daughter, Effie. Who wouldn't love a cupcake skirt?
Mickey Bullock got this top made in record time. Kindof of beachy colors. Very nice!

New Threads!

Remember Dianne?

Dianne is still in Florida and missing everyone. She sent me some pictures of her quilts/house.

I love the valences she makes to match the quilts.

This is a gorgeous hand quilted, hand appliqued quilt. There's a beautiful cathedral window quilt at the foot of the bed and a heart wallhanging.
