What a Deal!!

Beth Stephens brought in these vintage quilt tops to class last Wednesday night so we could see them!

She was browsing online and came across a fantastic deal for a lot that included some bolts of upholstery fabric and a box of miscellaneous sewing trims and things and these 6 quilt tops!!

They are really cool!

I love the anything goes color choices!

Enjoy!

This Month On Display

This month we have quilts by Ellie Held on display!

This quilt is a 1930's tied coverlet converted to a quilt!  This was a wedding present to Katherine Held in 1940 and it will be passed on to her Great Granddaughter ,Katherine, as a wedding present. The quilting is beautiful!

This quilt - made with reproduction fabrics - was totally done on her Aunties treadle machine and is Ellie's last hand quilted quilt!

These next ones are reproduction doll quilts!

Next we have quilted vintage linens inspired by Cindy Needham, guest teacher at Bayberry Quilters of Cape Cod for this months meeting next week!  What a great use for linens!

These two were made by Mary Anne Boberg!

Charlotte Tois made this tablerunner!

Here's a closer look!

Class With Carol

Hello Everyone!  It's been awhile, I was down in NY for 911 and in Philadelphia for a new Grandson, then I came home and was sick for 2 1/2 weeks with a virus.  So I am behind in my posting but hopefully will catch up quickly!

A couple of weeks ago some of the "Proper Bostonians" were here for a class with Carol Ayotte, working on some of Louisa Smith's Strips and Curves techniques.  Here they are!

This is Carol's quilt that was inspiration for the ladies!

I actually lost my little paper that had who made this one in class. Please leave a comment if you know who it was.
I know Charlotte made the fork and knife instead of a Strips and Curves quilt!

This is another one of Carol's.

This is another mystery student's!

The rest of these photos are Carol's!
