Snowing Again!!

It's snowing again!! Will it ever end!!  We will be closing early today because it is going to keep snowing steady, so call before you venture out!  Hopefully the storm will keep the predicted schedule and be done by opening tomorrow!

Meanwhile, have a nice cup of tea or cocoa and be cozy while you quilt!

Dream of Spring!  Shirley Vorortherms will be ready with this floral tablecloth she made!

Marti Szatkowski is giving this quilt to her daughter's boyfriend!  He is a chimney sweep!  She really made it personal, with various mustaches, top hat, a brush, and a pieced block called the chimney sweep block!

She also made this scrappy quilt!

Karen Carafoli was here for Adele's Harliquin Pillow Class and made this pillow for her granddaughter, Anna!  She likes purple,

but has recently added zebra stripes to her walls so this double sided pillow is perfect for her!

Sue Latis showed us her completed food quilt that she is ready to give as a gift!  It makes me hungry to look at it!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

We love seeing our hearts outside the window!  This one was all set for Valentine's Day with an icicle that appeared to be going through it like an arrow!

The icicle on this one is huge!

Joann G. made this Lone Star quilt top that she is now appliquéing birds onto.  The colors are beautiful!

Katherine Butterworth showed us her baby quilt she made using Kaffe Fassett dots!

She used other Kaffe scraps for this log cabin quilt!

Elsa is trying to get her stash smaller!  She made this scrappy quilt with lots of bright colors!  She still has a lot of stash fabric to go!

Olympic Patchwork

Have you noticed the quilt theme at the olympics?

There's Olympic quilts on the athletes beds in the village!

Even the hockey pucks have a quilt theme!

If you click here you can read more about the Olympic patchwork design and where the inspiration came from!

Cape Cod Matryoshka!

The Olympics have started!  What better way to celebrate than to show you Debbie MacKenzie's Cape Cod Matryoshka tea cozy that she made!!  Click the picture to see the detailed embroidery and embellishments!

Even the back looks great!

Debbie does gorgeous handwork and does it with style!  She was in the classroom for Studio Club hand sewing on a project and I loved her accessories!  She had this adorable shoe pincushion,

little stork scissors with a beaded decorated strawberry accent,

and a beaded and embellished scissor cover!!
If you are hand sewing you always need different and extra needles with you, and Debbie has hers in  this little elegant bag!  What a great use of a gift bag!  Add a little Dove chocolate that someone had brought and she was ready for a perfect morning of hanging out and sewing!  I just wanted to hang out and play with her "toys"!  I loved them!

Quilts!

Today is the calm between storms!  It snowed all day yesterday and tomorrow is bringing more snow, but today is beautiful and sunny!  It's quilting weather!

The Red Barn Quilters had their quilt retreat weekend at the Radisson in Plymouth last weekend!
Mary Schilke started this quilt at the hotel and was this far along when she stopped by the shop!

Janet-Lee Santeusanio was making this quilt!  Sorry for the blurry picture!
I love the borders on this!

Donna Karycki made this quilt for her son, Matthew and his wife, for a shower / Christmas / wedding quilt!  It took a little longer than she thought it would!

It was worth the wait!  It's beautiful!

Lisa Pasquarosa made this for her sister, Kara!

Valentine Hearts!

It's February!

The hearts are out and hanging!

It's always great to see the cheerful hearts adding color to the bleakness of winter!

You have a couple of weeks to make something for your Valentine!

Nancy made a baby quilt, a pillowcase, and a doll blanket!
Before the rabbit was there, the doll quilt was thought to be a placemat by some people.  That's another good idea!  What is your Valentine getting?
