She was dressed in purple and totally accessorized in purple! She had a purple notebook with purple paper, a purple plastic box for "stuff",
and her pincushion/scrap caddy was purple.
She also had a purple pad to take notes, purple scissors, and a purple stapler!!
Her little purple area in the classroom was like early blooming Spring flowers! Thanks for brightening up our day!

Monica Barros made this quilt for her baby boy-to-be! Her Mom is making the crib set to match.
I saw it in "Kaffe Fassett's Quilts In The Sun" book done by Betsy Menefee Rickles and wanted to make it.
I decided to quilt it by hand using BIG stitches. It was fun! I made big wonky stitches and it went pretty fast, I must say. 
Not like the old days when I hand quilted everything and it took awhile.
I seem to be drawn toward solid colors again for some reason. I made a few wallhangings in the 80's using solids, like this one. I guess I'm still drawn to similar colors. 
This one was hand quilted.
The stitches are quite smaller, although I was always of the opinion that if I was going to do all that hand stitching, it was darn well going to show.
Here's another one using solid colors. I did this one when I first started going up to Kathleen Weinheimer's house to play with color and design. We were playing with color and I was trying to make the colors vibrate. It worked, as you can see by the fuzzy picture. 
It was fun!

Well! This week she made this beautiful Bargello quilt! Yes, I said this week, since this time last week. The picture doesn't do it justice, make sure you click on it to see it better. She came in last week and picked out the fabric, and here it is! 
Here's another gorgeous Bargello quilt done by Sharon Wilson in batiks. They all come out so different looking! I love that about them.
Here's a couple of birds that I made. As usual, they can function as pincushions so they are very useful.
Debbie Zeida made this Bitty Bird pincushion. It's so cute! Everyone should make a bird of some kind and bring it in this week to put on display and be eligible for a drawing for a prize. You have until April 1. 
Valerie Ward made this awesome wolf wallhanging! It's one of those ones that you step back a distance to see it in all it's glory!

It will meet once a month starting on May 6. There will be an afternoon Club from 2 to 5, and an evening Club from 6 to 9. So, if you are interested, sign up asap. 
On another subject, there is still some room in the Machine Quilting 1 Class on Saturday, March 27, from 10-4. It's a great class to learn or brush up on your machine quilting skills.
Vi is working on her Village quilt. I can tell her's is the Village of Sandwich. Click to see it larger and you'll recognize the buildings.
Vi did this wallhanging for someone who would recognize it immediately! It's their house and nearby buildings.

Marlene Sexton made this Trip Around the World quilt for her sister, Jeannette. The pansy fabric is perfect for this time of the year!
We have new blooming fat quarter shirting bundles, complete with button flowers.
Also some Civil War bundles with button flowers.
We have some new colors of Kaffe prints.
New luscious shot cotton colors.
And new beads! I don't even have to do anything with beads and buttons, it's enough to have them in jars in my sewing room and just look at them. 
We also received new RJR Fabric! 
In every colorway there's a border print and graduated speckles. 
I can picture some awesome tablerunners, etc. made out of these fabrics.
Of course, the color is better in person. 
Everything looked good today! It must be Spring is near!
