Tuesday Night Quilts

Laurie LaConte will be at the store this Thursday, December 2, from 1 to 2:30 to pick up and drop off quilts and answer any questions you might have about having her machine quilt your quilt for you.

The quilts we have on display this month are done by quilters who come on Tuesday nights with Willie. They decided to do a challenge and all do the same pattern quilt. It was fun to see the color differences!

First we have Kellie Parham's quilt, done with batiks.

This next one was done by June Auger.
Next is Christine Schott's.
Megan Nickerson made this one.
Carol Baldi used some 30's fabric.
Willie Fiedler choose African fabrics in brown tones.

Misc.

The Runner's Club will be meeting on Saturday, Dec. 4, and will be making a mystery runner. Take a break from the Mall and have fun plus make a gift!

Actually, 2 gifts! You will also have time to make a 15 minute tablerunner!
We finally have received our Dr. Seuss fabric! Some lucky child would probably like a pillowcase made out of this fabric. Christmas is coming!
Some more Jo Morton fabric came in. A couple of repeats that people were looking for,
and some we haven't had.
This is a really bad picture, the indigo fabric looks gray. Come see it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day! Nothing says Thanksgiving like a turkey! If you click the picture to look closer, doesn't the turkey's hat sort of look like a spool of thread?

Up until this year, I had never seen a gang of turkeys roaming the neighborhood. Now they are in my yard frequently.
They seem very determined and on a specific mission.
Once in awhile one might stop and check something out, but mostly they pass through the yard on a planned route and later come back the same way. Sometimes on the same day, sometimes a couple of days later.
It's weird.
Here's some quilts that were shown in Houston that look like they could have been inspired by random gangs of turkeys!

The colors,
the curves,
the pathways, are all very turkey like when viewed while thinking about turkeys.
Have a great Thanksgiving and eat lots of pie!

Stephanie Dannemann finished this quilt that she made in a class with Adele!

Valerie Ward has her McKenna Ryan beach quilt practically done! Just some more machine quilting to go!
Rhiannon needed more fabric for the back of this big baby quilt! He'll be enjoying this quilt for a long time!
Ruth Banner made this black and white pinwheel quilt for herself, after making at least fifteen other quilts.
Meredith Pearson made this spider web quilt to use up some of her stash.
I like her background choice, it's different!

Shirley Sawyer's Quilt

Shirley Sawyer put together this baby quilt top for a friend of her daughter's. Different family members each made a block and then they went to Shirley for her to put them together.

I bet they had a lot of fun making the blocks!

Betsy Clark (who works at Victoria's Secret) made the perfect work bag for herself!

Misc.

Marie Spadaro came in using this bag she had made this past weekend. She had "no pattern", she just had fun being creative and designed a bag that suited her needs and showcased this beautiful piece of fabric that she had!

I love the silver metallic edge she did.
Ann Ashley made this tablerunner in Runners' Club with Willie. That would look great in my kitchen!
Elsa Sampou made these bags for her two granddaughters.
She also made this purple and white quilt for her daughter, Les Sampou.
Nancy made this tablerunner in class with Debbie.
Nancy was also in the class with Debbie and made this one.

Anthropologie

While in Houston, I paid a visit to one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie! They have really cool "stuff" there and the displays are always inspiring. Check out this patchwork awning!

This was on a wall, showcasing the different fabrics available for bedding. Looks like a quilt to me!
Beautiful hand embroidered lampshades.
Didn't I just see some of these African fabrics used in these sachets at Quilt Market?
I don't know what this is, but I really like it! Kind of a bird cage with tree branches on top.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Love this!! They have perfume for sale that comes in a bottle with a pincushion top!
These ceramic spools with thread around them have candles inside them. They also had little jars of buttons that I didn't get pictures of.
There were some stools with woven seats. Very nice!
And what trip to Texas would be complete without seeing a horse!
Or two!!
