Nancy Vincent entered the Seaway Trail War of 1812 International Quilt Challenge and her quilt was one of the 25 out of 116 chosen to tour and display!! Congratulations Nancy!
The quilt had to be approximately 30 by 70 inches, which was a "cot to coffin" size used by soldiers. Nancy wanted the quilt to represent home, duty to country, and honor, and picked stars and colors to help do that. Nancy machine pieced and hand quilted her quilt. The 25 quilts picked will be on display at the Mancuso Quilt Shows this year so look for Nancy's. The New England show will be held in Manchester N.H. August 16-19, 2012 so plan your trip now!
More info about the challenge and quilts from that time period can be found here on the Seaway Trail blog.
